What it is
- Any Linux machine you can reach over SSH: a VPS, a home server, a spare box.
- The machine needs bash and git.
- Panes you start there use its CPU and memory, not this computer’s.
Add a machine
- Add machine — open Cloud machines and choose Add machine.
- Fill it in — address, port (22 by default) and user. The name is optional; leave it blank to use the machine’s own name.
- Pick an SSH key — a stored one, or paste a private key. It’s kept in CrazyToad’s key vault on this computer.
- Test & add — CrazyToad checks the connection before it saves the machine.
Each machine shows up as Cloud · <name>. Rename or remove it any time.
Install and sign in the agent CLIs
- Install the agent CLIs on the machine itself.
- Each machine lists Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Grok CLI and OpenCode, and shows which are installed and signed in.
- Claude Code and Codex get a one-click Sign in. A dialog shows the sign-in link (plus a code for Codex), and you finish in your browser.
- The login lives on that machine. Your login on this computer isn’t copied over.
Start a pane there
- Open the launcher — start a new pane in Agents.
- Pick Claude Code or Codex — those two can run on another machine today.
- Choose Runs on — This computer or Cloud · <name>. The row appears once you’ve added a machine.
Note
Background agents run on this computer for now. If the CLI on the machine is signed out, the Runs on row offers Sign in right there.
