How background agents work
- Toad delegates — the agent runs on its own, with no visible pane.
- Its own worktree — each agent works in a separate git worktree, so parallel agents don’t collide.
- Merged back — finished work is merged back automatically.
- Conflicts handled — if a merge conflicts, a merger agent is spawned to sort it out.

Rather watch?
Ask for a pane, like “give me a pane here” or “let me drive”, and Toad opens a visible one in Agents.

On a scheduleSend Toad a message at a set time, once or on repeat. Handy for a nightly check or a morning summary.
Until doneA goal that takes several passes. Toad or a mini-boss works through it, with a pass cap so it knows when to stop.
- Pause, resume or stop any of them from the list.
